How Omnisend builds products — and teams

Take a look inside how we plan, ship, and collaborate across product and engineering.

Planning

The W principle

Our planning follows a W-shaped flow:

  1. Leadership defines strategic direction (top-down)
  2. Teams write two-pagers (bottom-up)
  3. Leadership integrates and prioritizes
  4. Teams refine and commit to objectives

It keeps ideas moving both ways and everyone has a say.

The two-pager

Every team starts a new quarter with a short two-page plan. It includes:

  • Last quarter’s wins and lessons
  • Current blockers and dependencies
  • How the team is feeling
  • Proposed goals for the next quarter

It’s where strategy meets reality — everyone knows what’s working, what’s not, and what’s next.

Start together, finish together

We don’t do “hand offs.” Product, design, and engineering are in the room from day one, defining problems, shaping solutions, and staying aligned until launch.

By maintaining this transparency, we experience fewer misunderstandings and gain a stronger sense of ownership.

What we value in
collaboration

We want people who care about more than just implementation — impact is what really matters in a product-led company. When collaborating, we value:

Ownership

You own both the code, and the outcomes

Adaptability

Plans change, we pivot fast when needed

Partnership

We’re all partners, not order-takers

Teams

Cross-functional by default.

Every team has all the roles it needs to deliver end-to-end.

No shared roles between teams.

Each team handles its own work and can reach its goals without relying on others. This makes decisions faster and keeps focus clear.

Stable scope.

Each team owns a specific set of product areas that drive customer value. That scope rarely changes, so teams can think long-term instead of chasing the next fire.

Responsibility and autonomy.

Teams shape the problem, build the solution, and decide how to get there.

You’ll thrive here if…

You think beyond your role, whether it’s in product, design, or engineering.

You value autonomy, take accountability, and prefer context over control. You care about outcomes, adapt fast, and keep customers at the center of your work.
