Guest blogging guidelines for Omnisend

Thanks for your interest in contributing to the Omnisend blog. We collaborate with marketers, ecommerce experts, and content professionals who know their stuff and can write in a clear, confident, and human way. These guidelines will help ensure your submission aligns with our voice, standards, and content strategy.

1. What we’re looking for

We publish educational, data-informed content — not sales pitches. Our audience is smart and busy. They’re looking for helpful, well-structured insights backed by real examples or data, written by experts in their field.

This means:

  • Minimum length: 1,000–1,500 words
  • Language: American English
  • Point of view: First-person plural (“we,” “our”)
  • Tone: Conversational, informed, confident

Strong submissions usually:

  • Include specific examples or case studies
  • Reference recent data (past 12-18 months)
  • Offer actionable, expert-level insights

2. Style and formatting guidelines

To stay consistent across the blog, please follow these style and formatting rules:

  • Use sentence case for all headings and subheadings
  • Break up long paragraphs — max three sentences each
  • Include screenshots, charts, or examples if relevant
  • Avoid stock photos or AI-generated images
  • Use clear subheadings, bullet points, and short intros for readability
  • Back up claims with recent, credible sources (From the past 1–2 years)
  • Use contractions where natural (“we’re,” “you’ll,” etc.)
  • Avoid vague or filler language (e.g., “some,” “a lot,” “possibly”)
  • Don’t use overdone expressions like:
    • “Let’s dive in”
    • “Take it to the next level”
    • “Game-changer”
    • “Supercharge your results”

We value authentic, human-written content. Submissions are checked using AI and plagiarism detection tools to ensure originality.

3. SEO expectations

We want your article to perform well, without competing with existing Omnisend content. Please follow these SEO guidelines before and during submission:

  • Check existing topics: Before finalizing your pitch, review the Omnisend blog to make sure we haven’t already covered the same topic or primary keyword
  • Avoid keyword overlap: If a submitted post risks SEO cannibalization with our existing content, we reserve the right to adjust or rewrite the target keyword, headline, and related phrases
  • Optimize for clarity:
    • Include a descriptive, keyword-rich headline (under 60 characters)
    • Add a short meta description suggestion (around 150–160 characters)
    • Use clear, relevant subheadings with keywords where natural
  • Keep it natural: Focus on readability and flow — SEO should support good writing, not replace it

4. Links and attribution

You may include up to 2 dofollow links to your own blog content if they are relevant and non-promotional. Links to product pages, homepages, landing pages, or partner pages will be removed.

Please:

  • Attribute all data and quotes with proper source links
  • Avoid citing competitors of Omnisend (Shopify, Klaviyo, Mailchimp, etc.)
  • Include a variety of sources if you're using statistics
  • Use internal links to relevant Omnisend articles where they fit naturally

5. Author information

Every blog post must include:

  • A short author bio (2–3 sentences)
  • A high-quality headshot

We’ll display this info with your published post.

6. Submission and review process

Here’s what the process looks like:

  • Submit a proposed topic and brief outline — we’ll confirm alignment before you write
  • Send your draft in Google Docs with comments enabled
  • We’ll review the content and share edits or comments
  • Once finalized, we’ll confirm the publish date and let you know when it’s live

Note: We reserve the right to edit submissions for clarity, structure, SEO, and tone, or decline them entirely.

7. What we don’t allow

To maintain the integrity of our blog, we do not accept:

  • Syndicated or previously published content
  • Fully AI-written articles
  • Overly promotional or advertorial-style posts
  • Misleading claims or vague advice
  • Low-authority or spammy external links

8. Ownership and rights

By submitting your article, you grant Omnisend the right to edit, publish, and promote it across our channels. You may share excerpts or link to your published post, but full republication elsewhere isn’t allowed.
